Duba was founded in Copenhagen in 1922 and produced cycle parts for very many years. In 1960, Duba began producing office furniture. The company has its administrative head office in Copenhagen and production facilities in Nykøbing Falster. In 2004/5, Duba had a turnover of DKK 125 million and 110 employees.

1936 The original Duba is established under the name Clemmensen og Eftf. – it is a family business in a back yard in Vesterbro in Copenhagen, producing bicycle parts (luggage racks, handlebars, kickstands, etc.).
1946 Clemmensen og Eftf. changes its name to Duba Metalindustri.
1960 Motoring booms at the expense of cycles. So Duba switches its business area to office furniture. This allows continued utilisation of the production equipment for the production of steel frames for desks. Duba buys wooden table tops and storage furniture from subcontractors.
1974 Duba Metalindustri changes its name to Duba Møbelindustri. The company is now a medium-sized enterprise with sales mainly to the State and large companies.
1984 A new group of owners takes over Duba in Søborg and the company LHM in Nykøbing Falster.
1986 Duba begins to export its office furniture. At the same time, Duba launches its first range of office chairs.
1996 Duba opens its showroom in Århus and launches the I.Q. office furniture range and the QVO office chairs in Denmark and abroad.
1997 Start of licence production in Australia – and two years later in the USA.
2004 Duba launches the worX® office furniture range.
2005 Duba launches the new Spinella office chair.
2005 Duba Møbelindustri AS merges with System B8 møbler A/S.
System B8 was founded by brothers Martin and Kristian Bach, who purchased Bjerringbro Savværk in 1914. B8 has its head office and production facilities in Bjerringbro and sales offices in Copenhagen and Oslo. In 2004, System B8 had a turnover of DKK 138 million and has 110 employees.

1914
System B8’s history begins when the two brothers Martin and Kristian Bach buy Bjerringbro Savværk.
1920s
The Bach brothers begin to produce domestic furniture in the 1920s. From the very beginning, they attach importance to good workmanship and consistent quality.
1930s
The company’s business area is extended to include office furniture. It becomes a big success and the company grows.
1941
Throughout the company’s history, there has been a strong focus on employee motivation and working conditions. In 1941, Bjerringbro Savværk was the first company in Denmark to offer its employees the opportunity to buy shares in the company.
1970s
When production of mass-produced office furniture grows fast in the 1970s, Bjerringbro Savværk changes its name to System B8 møbler. ‘System’ stands for office furniture systems, ‘B’ is for Bjerringbro and ‘8’ is because the first complete system of office furniture was called Serie 800. In everyday use, the name becomes ‘B8’.
1980s
System B8 møbler is converted into a limited liability company.
1990s
Greater focus on functionalism and ergonomics.
2000 - System B8 works on activity-based interior design and total interior design.
2005 System B8 møbler A/S merges with Duba Møbelindustri A/S.
