Duba-B8, Denmark’s largest manufacturer and supplier of total interior design solutions for offices, has had a busy year with many large projects. The year’s net turnover was almost DKK 350m which represents a 12% increase in growth in relation to 2006. The operating result before merger costs was DKK 11.7m.
Growth continues at Duba-B8 where net turnover is now almost DKK 350m, and since the beginning of the year the company has maintained the same high level of turnover from 2007.
A good year in 2007
There have been many large projects in 2007, including two projects involving the interior design of up to 2,000 workplaces.
In 2007, the merger between Duba Møbelindustri A/S and System B8 A/S was also anchored in product development, marketing and sales between the three locations: Søborg, Oslo and Bjerringbro – and recently, the opening of a Duba-B8 office in Odense.
At the end of 2007, Duba-B8 bade farewell to two members of the executive board and welcomed a new Managing Director, Christian J. Flarup, who took up his appointment in the first quarter of 2008. Christian J. Flarup comes from a similar position at WindowMaster A/S. You can read a previous press release on Duba-B8’s website.
Extension of factory in Bjerringbro
As a consequence of the merger, Duba-B8 has closed the factory in Nykøbing Falster in order to consolidate its entire production at a more modern factory site in Bjerringbro. This has meant a doubling of production and as such a significant need for more employees with some of the special core competences being difficult to recruit. The substantial increase in production has also led to a need for more space and Duba-B8 is currently building an extension of almost 4,000 square metres in Bjerringbro.
Simultaneously with the amalgamation of the factories, Duba-B8 experienced a boom in turnover that led to challenges in production management and knock-on challenges for the remainder of the organisation in the first half of 2007. The second half, and in particular the last quarter of 2007, have been satisfactory. The net result before tax was -DKK 5.9m in 2007.
An exciting 2008
To date, 2008 has offered many exciting projects with new and existing customers, a move into a new and centrally located office and showroom in Oslo, and the appointment of a new managing director.
In 2008, Duba-B8 will also be focusing on partnerships and our move into the new extension in Bjerringbro. Furthermore, the company intends to modernise its product range and enhance supply chain efficiency with focus on security of supply and quality, just as sourcing from low-wage areas is another vital focus area.
